Client: Brendan Transportation (Brendan Travel Sdn Bhd)
Industry: Transportation — Chauffeur, Car Rental with Driver, Airport Transfers, Bus & Van Rental
Locations: Kuala Lumpur (serving nationwide and international routes)
Services Covered: SEM (Google Ads) + SEO (Website Build, On-Page, Technical, Content)

When Brendan Transportation first came to our SEO agency, the business had two separate but connected problems. Their Google Ads campaigns were running — but burning budget inefficiently, with a cost-per-conversion that made scaling difficult. And beyond paid ads, they had virtually no organic presence at all. Every booking that came through search was being paid for. There was no free traffic, no content infrastructure, and no long-term equity being built.

Hypercharge tackled both simultaneously: restructuring the paid search account to reduce wasteful spend, while building the SEO foundations that would eventually reduce dependence on ads altogether. The results, tracked across Google Ads and Google Search Console, tell a story that plays out on two tracks.

Here is how it happened.

The Client: A Chauffeur and Transportation Service Built for KL

Brendan Transportation offers a full suite of ground transportation services across the Klang Valley and beyond — private drivers, airport transfers to and from KLIA, wedding car rental, bus and van rental, limousine service, and day tours to destinations like Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands.

The business serves a diverse mix of customers: Malaysian families booking wedding cars, expatriates needing reliable airport transfers, tourists arranging private drivers for multi-day trips, and corporate clients requiring chartered buses. Each of these audiences searches differently — and that complexity was part of what made the SEO challenge interesting.

With international travellers making up a meaningful share of the market (Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, the UK), the opportunity extended well beyond local search.

The Challenge: Paying for Every Click, Ranking for None

When Hypercharge audited the account, two structural problems stood out.

Google Ads: Performance Max Was Burning Budget

The existing campaigns were running on Performance Max — Google’s automated, broad-targeting ad format. PMax works well in mature accounts with rich conversion data, but for a transportation business still building its digital footprint, it was too blunt an instrument. The algorithm was spending across a wide net of audiences and placements, including traffic that was unlikely to convert, driving up the cost per conversion without improving lead quality.

There was also no systematic keyword exclusion in place. Irrelevant queries were consuming budget that should have been directed at high-intent searches.

SEO: No Website, No Rankings, No Organic Presence

On the organic side, Brendan had no optimised website to speak of. There were no service pages built around how customers actually search — no dedicated page for “car rental with driver Kuala Lumpur”, no airport transfer landing page, no wedding car rental page targeting the specific queries brides and grooms use. Without that architecture, there was nothing for Google to rank.

The content gap was total. Any potential customer searching organically for Brendan’s services was landing on a competitor.

What Hypercharge Did: Two-Track Execution

SEM: From PMax to Precision PPC

The Google Ads restructure centred on moving the core campaigns from Performance Max to targeted Pay-Per-Click (PPC). This shift gave the team direct control over bidding, ad copy, keyword targeting, and audience exclusions.

The keyword audit was methodical — identifying which search terms were driving genuine enquiries, and which were consuming spend without converting. Low-intent, irrelevant, and cannibalised keywords were excluded. Bids were concentrated on the high-intent queries where Brendan could win: airport transfer bookings, private driver enquiries, and wedding transport searches.

Landing pages were created to match ad intent — a visitor clicking a “car rental with driver KL” ad now landed on a page built specifically for that query, not a generic homepage.

SEO: Building a Website from the Ground Up

The SEO programme started where it had to: with building the website itself. Brendan had no functional, SEO-ready site before the engagement. Hypercharge built one from scratch with search architecture in mind.

Every service category got its own dedicated page: car rental with driver, wedding car rental, bus rental, van rental, limousine service, chauffeur service, airport transfers, and day tours. Each location relevant to Brendan’s operations — Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur — got a location page targeting area-specific queries.

On-page SEO was applied to each page: intent-matched title tags, meta descriptions, heading hierarchies, and structured data. Technical SEO work covered site speed, crawlability, canonical tags, and mobile optimisation.

Content creation followed — blog articles targeting informational queries that potential customers search before booking. “Bus vs Van: Which is Right for Your Family Trip?” targeted a comparison query with 19,527 impressions in the tracked period. “How to Book an Airport Transfer in Malaysia” addressed a common pre-booking question, accumulating 3,161 impressions.

The Results: Two Channels, Measurable Impact

Google Ads: CPA Reduced, Conversions Sustained

MonthCost Per Conversion (CPA)Conversions
January 2025RM12.172,982
April 2025RM11.802,237
July 2025RM11.582,383
October 2025RM11.522,836
November 2025RM9.932,853

The PMax-to-PPC restructure brought the cost per conversion down progressively through 2025. By November 2025, CPA had dropped to RM9.93 — the lowest point in the tracked period — while conversion volume reached 2,853 for the month. Sustaining both simultaneously (lower cost, higher volume) is the benchmark for a well-performing paid search account.

The campaign maintained a consistent monthly conversion volume of 2,000–2,900 across most of 2025, giving Brendan predictable lead flow without runaway spend.

Every major service vertical now has a dedicated page generating traffic. The car rental with driver page alone drives over 1,000 clicks. Wedding car rental follows closely at 850. The Cameron Highlands location page — at a 2.44% CTR and position 15.86 — signals that location-specific pages still have significant room to grow as rankings improve.

Google Analytics 4: Organic Engagement and Conversion Actions

The conversion story is in the WhatsApp clicks. With 7,880 WhatsApp click events from 5,951 unique users, a significant portion of the site’s 31,167 total visitors are taking direct contact action — tapping the WhatsApp button to enquire about bookings. This is the primary lead mechanism for most Malaysian service businesses, and the volume here reflects genuine booking intent.

Email clicks (760 events) add a secondary contact channel. Get directions events (24) point to customers actively navigating to Brendan’s physical location.

What the Dual-Channel Approach Produced

The clearest takeaway from this campaign is the value of running paid and organic search in parallel rather than treating them as alternatives.

During the period when organic rankings were still building, paid search provided consistent lead volume. As SEO matured and Brendan secured top-three positions for high-volume terms like “car rental with driver Kuala Lumpur” and “private driver Kuala Lumpur”, organic clicks began supplementing — and in some segments, replacing — what previously required ad spend to achieve.

The international traffic tells a complementary story. Singapore, Australia, and Indonesia collectively contribute over 4,000 clicks from users who are planning trips to Malaysia and searching in English for exactly the services Brendan offers. This audience is difficult to reach efficiently through local-targeted Google Ads but is captured naturally by well-optimised service and location pages.

A Transportation Business with Lasting Digital Infrastructure

Before working with Hypercharge, Brendan Transportation had no organic presence and was paying for every visitor who found them through search. The paid campaigns were running, but without the structure to make them efficient.

Today, the business has both. A Google Ads account restructured for precision and lower CPA. And an SEO infrastructure — built from scratch — that ranks in the top three for some of the most commercially valuable transportation searches in Malaysia.

The 7,880 WhatsApp clicks, 31,167 website users, and sustained search visibility across multiple service verticals represent the kind of compounding returns that come from building the right foundation — not just paying for short-term traffic.

For transportation businesses in Malaysia looking to reduce their dependence on expensive ads while building long-term organic growth, the Brendan Transportation case is a practical example of how both can work together.
