Malaysians are asking AI tools to recommend businesses. We make sure yours is one of them.

Search has changed. When a potential patient asks ChatGPT “which aesthetic clinic in Bangsar is good for HIFU?” or a business owner asks Gemini “which SEO agency in KL should I hire?” — Google rankings alone don’t determine who gets named. A new layer of visibility has emerged, and most Malaysian businesses aren’t optimised for it yet.
AI Search Optimisation — also called GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) — is the discipline of building your digital presence so that AI tools can understand, trust, and recommend your business. We’ve been testing what works. This is the service built on those findings.
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation. It is the practice of making your business visible in AI-generated search responses — the recommendations, summaries, and cited answers produced by tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
When someone searches “best renovation contractor in Shah Alam” and Google’s AI Overview cites three contractors above the organic results — that placement comes from GEO signals, not just traditional rankings.
Here is something most agencies won’t tell you: GEO and SEO share approximately 90% of the same foundations.
A website Google can’t crawl won’t be cited by AI. Content without topical depth won’t be referenced by Gemini. A business with no third-party mentions won’t appear in ChatGPT recommendations. These are all SEO fundamentals — and GEO requires every one of them.
What GEO adds on top of strong SEO is a greater emphasis on entity clarity, third-party brand presence, and structured content designed to be cited. If your SEO is solid, you’re already partially GEO-ready. If your SEO is weak, GEO activity alone will not produce results.
The real differences are in the off-page strategy and the measurement approach.
Traditional SEO measures impressions, clicks, rankings, and leads — all trackable through Google Search Console and Analytics. GEO metrics are less standardised: share of voice across AI platforms, citation sentiment, citation position, and platform coverage. The tools to measure these are emerging, and we’ll be honest about what can and cannot currently be tracked.
On the off-page side, GEO places more weight on third-party brand mentions in trusted editorial sources — media coverage, forum discussions, industry publications — than on link volume alone. A mention in The Star Online or a recommendation in a niche Malaysian industry publication carries more weight for AI visibility than a backlink from an obscure directory.
Not all AI tools source information the same way. Each platform has a different relationship with web content, which is why effective AI search optimisation considers all three major platforms — not just one.
Google AI Overviews appear at the top of Google Search results for many queries — above the organic blue links. They draw directly from Google’s own search index, which means the strongest predictor of appearing in an AI Overview is already ranking well in Google’s organic results.
If your SEO foundation is strong and your content directly answers the queries your customers search for, Google AI Overviews is the most immediately accessible AI platform for Malaysian businesses. It is the one where SEO and GEO overlap most completely.
ChatGPT with web browsing enabled searches the live web and cites sources explicitly. ChatGPT without browsing draws from its training data — a reflection of how well your business was represented across the internet up to its knowledge cutoff.
For Malaysian businesses, building a consistent, well-documented, widely-cited online presence increases the likelihood of appearing in both modes. The key signal: how many independent, credible sources mention your business — and how clearly and consistently they describe what you do.
Gemini is Google’s AI assistant, deeply integrated with Google Search and increasingly surfaced in the Google app and Search results pages. Like AI Overviews, Gemini draws heavily from Google’s index and applies Google’s trust and quality signals.
Content that demonstrates genuine expertise, accurate business information, and strong local signals performs well in Gemini recommendations. Gemini is particularly relevant for Malaysian businesses because it is the AI tool most tightly linked to the Google Search behaviour already dominant in this market.
The best options and brands for your needs are credible, and trustworthy.

Malaysian consumers — particularly in the 25 to 45 age bracket — are increasingly using AI tools as part of their research process before making purchase decisions. Healthcare, legal services, home improvement, and professional services are all categories where AI tools are being consulted before a provider is shortlisted.
AI search changes the funnel. Previously, a customer’s first digital touchpoint with your business was most likely a Google search result or a social media post. Today, it may be an AI tool recommending your business in response to a question — before they’ve opened a browser, before they’ve typed anything into Google.
GEO is early-stage in Malaysia. Most businesses are not yet optimising for AI visibility. The businesses that build AI-visible entity signals now — consistent brand documentation, topical authority content, third-party editorial mentions — will have a compounding advantage over competitors who start later.
Our GEO process follows a specific sequence — because order matters. The foundation must be right before the visibility layer can work.
Before anything else, we assess where your business currently stands in AI search. This includes a technical SEO audit to identify crawling and indexing barriers, an entity consistency review across your website, Google Business Profile, and social platforms, and a prompt audit across key AI platforms to establish your current share of voice.
The entity setup phase ensures your business is described consistently and clearly across every surface Google and AI tools draw from — your business name, location, services, credentials, and differentiators reading identically everywhere they appear.
Self-proclaimed expertise does not work with AI. An AI tool doesn’t repeat your marketing claims — it evaluates whether independent, credible sources corroborate them.
We build the signals that establish genuine authority: named practitioners with verifiable credentials featured on your website, author profiles linked to published expertise, and an active programme of third-party brand mentions through editorial placements, press coverage, and contributions to reputable industry platforms.
For healthcare clients, this includes doctor credential pages, treatment-specific clinical content, and targeted placements in Malaysian health media. For legal clients, named attorney profiles, practice area content, and association citations. For every client, the goal is the same: ensure that when an AI tool asks “is this a credible, expert business?” — the answer from multiple independent sources is yes.
AI tools cite content that directly and clearly answers specific questions. We identify the questions your target customers are asking AI tools and build content that provides the best available answer for each one.
This includes FAQ sections with FAQPage schema, structured service pages with LocalBusiness and industry-specific schema (MedicalOrganization for clinics, LegalService for law firms), and topical cluster content that demonstrates depth of expertise across your core subject area.
Schema markup gives AI tools machine-readable entity data — not just text to interpret, but structured declarations of what your business is, where it operates, what it offers, and what others say about it.
This is the component that most differentiates GEO from traditional SEO. Links remain important for organic search authority. But AI visibility is more strongly influenced by brand mentions — references to your business in trusted editorial sources, industry forums, social platforms, and news coverage — than by link volume alone.
We develop and execute a targeted brand mention programme: identifying the publications and platforms most relevant to your industry and audience, building relationships with editorial teams, and creating content worth referencing. For Malaysian businesses, this includes The Star Online, Malay Mail, industry association platforms, niche local publications, and selected high-authority regional outlets.
Paid editorial placements on trusted platforms are sometimes part of this strategy. We’ll be transparent about which placements involve fees and which are earned organically.
AI search visibility is not a set-and-forget outcome. We run systematic prompt testing across the AI platforms relevant to your business — asking the questions your customers ask and tracking whether your business appears, in what position, and with what sentiment.
Monthly reporting covers share of voice trends, new citation sources, branded search growth in Google Search Console, and any changes in how AI tools are describing your business. When citations are inaccurate or missing, we identify why and adjust.
Measurement in GEO is more complex than in traditional SEO — and we’d rather be honest about that than oversell capabilities that don’t yet exist.
Share of voice measures how often your brand is mentioned across a defined set of test prompts compared to your competitors. We build a custom prompt set — questions your target customers are likely to ask AI tools — and run them consistently across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Your share of voice over time is the primary indicator of growing AI visibility.
When AI tools mention your brand, some users subsequently search for you by name in Google. Branded search volume — tracked in Google Search Console — is one of the most reliable proxy signals for growing AI-driven brand awareness. We track this trend monthly as a supporting indicator of GEO progress
Not all AI citations are equal. A first-position recommendation (“the best option is…”) is more valuable than a fourth-position mention. A positive citation is more valuable than a neutral one. We track both position and sentiment across prompt testing to give you a complete picture of how AI tools are representing your business.
There is no GEO equivalent of Google Search Console — no free dashboard that shows you how often your brand appears across all AI platforms for all queries. The measurement tools are emerging and imperfect. Direct ROI attribution from AI citations is not yet reliably possible in the way paid advertising attribution works.
We invest in the best available measurement tools and maintain systematic prompt testing protocols. But we won’t sell you a metric that looks precise and isn’t. The businesses that invest in GEO now are doing so because they understand that brand presence in AI search is building an asset — one whose direct revenue contribution will become more measurable as the ecosystem matures.
We include pricing context here because transparent expectations prevent misaligned engagements — for both sides.
The GEO-specific layer — entity setup, AI-specific content, schema depth, brand mention strategy, and prompt testing — typically adds RM2,000 to RM3,000 per month to the base SEO retainer.
Because GEO requires a strong SEO foundation, GEO engagements are structured on top of an active SEO retainer. A full-service SEO engagement from a competent Malaysian agency — covering technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content strategy, and link building — typically ranges from RM3,000 to RM10,000 per month depending on scope, industry competitiveness, and website size.
Yes — with the caveat that GEO ROI is not directly attributable in the way paid advertising is. An AI recommendation that shapes a customer’s consideration before they open a browser won’t appear as an attributed click in your analytics. The influence is real; the measurement trail is indirect.
The businesses that see the strongest case for GEO investment are those where brand perception during the research phase matters most: healthcare, legal services, financial advisory, and professional services. When a customer is making a high-stakes decision and consulting AI tools as part of their research, being present in those AI-generated answers is a meaningful competitive advantage — even before a single click occurs.
Third-party brand mentions through trusted editorial placements carry costs separate from agency fees. Placement on established Malaysian media platforms and high-authority industry publications typically ranges from RM500 to RM3,000 per placement, depending on the publication’s authority and audience reach.
These costs go to the publications, not to us. We’ll be transparent about which activities involve third-party fees before any commitment is made.
Healthcare is where GEO delivers the clearest value for Malaysian businesses. Patients increasingly ask AI tools for clinic recommendations before they search Google — particularly for specialist treatments, aesthetic procedures, and second opinions. At the same time, Google applies its highest content quality standards to medical content.
Google classifies medical content as YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) — content where inaccurate or misleading information can harm the reader. AI tools apply the same logic: they are more conservative about citing healthcare sources without strong credibility signals. Named doctors with verifiable credentials, accurate clinical content, and genuine patient reviews are the foundation of healthcare GEO.
We develop doctor credential pages with linkable qualifications, treatment-specific content reviewed for clinical accuracy, and a structured programme of third-party citations in Malaysian health and medical media. Every healthcare GEO engagement also includes schema markup for MedicalOrganization and Physician entities — giving AI tools machine-readable confirmation of who your practitioners are and what they treat.
Aesthetic clinics, spas, hair salons, and wellness centres operate in a visually-driven discovery environment where social media, Google Maps, and now AI recommendations all intersect. We help beauty and wellness businesses build the authoritative content and brand presence that earns AI citations for treatment-specific and location-specific queries/
Home services — renovation, plumbing, electrical, pest control, aircond — are among the highest-intent local search categories in Malaysia. As AI tools become a first-stop reference for finding trusted tradespeople, building the entity signals that earn reliable AI recommendations becomes a meaningful lead generation lever.
Law firms, accounting practices, financial advisers, and property consultants operate in categories where clients conduct extensive research before committing. AI tools are an increasingly significant part of that research journey — particularly for B2B buyers and high-value consumer decisions. We help professional services firms build the topical authority and third-party credibility that AI tools look for when recommending advisers.
Our monthly prompt audit covers the AI platforms most relevant to your business and the queries your target customers are most likely to ask. You see exactly where your brand appears, what sentiment surrounds it, and how your share of voice compares to your main competitors. When you’re not appearing for queries you should own, we identify why and build toward it.
We connect AI visibility tracking to your Google Search Console data — monitoring branded search trends as a proxy indicator of growing AI-driven brand awareness alongside your organic rankings. You get a single integrated picture of your visibility across traditional search and AI platforms.

Before Hypercharge, we were with another agency that kept saying our ad budget was too small, so they asked for more and more. The results were bad, and their high management fees just ate into our profit. Once Hypercharge took over, they changed the strategy in the first month itself, and results started going up. Now our revenue is double our original target. This is the kind of agency that actually delivers instead of giving excuses.Posted on Google izat haikalTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We run an aesthetic clinic in KL. Before this, we were pouring money into social media ads, but the leads were terrible. The ads were shown to random people — some just clicked for fun or asked for price and then ghosted us. Cost per lead kept climbing, and even after learning all those ‘closing tricks’ from online gurus, nothing worked because the leads were not serious. Hypercharge shifted us to Google Ads and SEO. Big difference — now only people actively searching for aesthetic treatments see our ads, check our website, and then contact us. Conversion rate is so much higher, and finally the ad spend feels worth it.Posted on Google qly 11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’re a small law firm in Penang. Hypercharge did our SEO and also helped us build blog pages that answer common legal questions. This lets people read and understand their options without paying consultation fees. Many who read our blogs referred us to others or came back months later when they needed legal help. Even if they didn’t need a lawyer right away, they remembered our firm and chose us first when the time came. Those blogs alone brought us a steady stream of referrals.Posted on Google Afiqah Afiqah syuhadaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We run a music school in Kuching. Before working with Hypercharge, most of our students were kids whose parents sent them after school just to fill time before work ended. Hypercharge helped us run SEO and Google Ads, and also created a campaign to encourage adults to pick up music later in life. The response was amazing — we started seeing more working adults joining classes after work or during weekends. The demand grew so much that we expanded to another shoplot and hired more teachers to handle the extra students. It’s a big change from where we started.Posted on Google ainananaaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’re a small NGO in Ipoh. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and SEO share approximately 90% of the same foundations — technical health, quality content, and authoritative off-page signals all matter for both. The key differences are in the off-page emphasis (brand mentions over backlink volume) and the measurement approach (share of voice and citation tracking rather than rankings and clicks). GEO is best understood as an extension of strong SEO, not a replacement for it.
Yes. AI tools that reference Google’s index — including Google AI Overviews and Gemini — cannot cite a business whose website Google cannot properly crawl and index. A functional, technically sound website is the foundation that GEO requires. Social media presence contributes to your brand entity footprint, but cannot substitute for a proper website in the context of AI search visibility.
For Google AI Overviews — the most immediately accessible platform for Malaysian businesses — meaningful movement typically follows organic SEO improvements, which take 3 to 6 months for early signals and 6 to 12 months for consistent results. Broader AI citation visibility across ChatGPT and Perplexity builds over months as your topical authority deepens and third-party brand presence grows. There is no shortcut timeline.
No — and any agency that makes this guarantee is misleading you. AI platforms don’t accept payment for inclusion in generated recommendations. What we can do is systematically build the signals that make your business a credible, well-documented, widely-cited candidate for recommendation — and track your progress through regular prompt auditing. The outcome is influenced by our work; it is not directly controlled by it.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) focuses specifically on getting your content cited in direct answer results — featured snippets, FAQ responses, and question-answering formats. GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) is the broader discipline of building visibility across all types of AI-generated content — recommendations, summaries, comparisons, and local business citations. GEO encompasses AEO and extends it to the full range of AI-generated outputs.
We work with businesses at all stages — but we will always assess your SEO foundation before or alongside GEO work. If significant technical or content gaps exist, we’ll address those first. A GEO engagement built on a weak SEO foundation produces limited results. We’d rather tell you that upfront than take your budget and deliver disappointing outcomes.
Social media brand presence is part of the GEO entity footprint — particularly following Google’s July 2026 introduction of platform properties in Search Console, which formally integrates Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube performance data into Google’s search infrastructure. We help clients build and optimise social presence as a component of their broader entity strategy, though social media management is a separate service from the core GEO engagement.
Most Malaysian businesses are not yet optimising for AI search. The window to build a head start — before your competitors are doing the same — is open now and will close as adoption grows.
We start every engagement with an AI visibility audit: where your brand currently appears across key AI platforms, what your competitors’ share of voice looks like, and where the gaps are. No commitment required to see where you stand.
